This lampshade is handmade from hand-printed Australian Aboriginal fabric, Yaminyarri (Gubinge) from Nagula Jarndu in Broome, Western Australia. It was designed in 2016. Designer: Amanda Lee Rose is a Yawuru woman living in Broome. Amanda loves fishing, hunting and gathering and being on country as this is part of her Yawuru heritage. Design: Amanda's artwork stems from her inspiration from the land and sea and old people's stories. Yamiyarri (Gubinge) is a medicinal plant that grows in the Kimberley region and is very potent in vitamin C. The base fabric is birch and is a four-colour print with red, green, black and beige coloured details.
